idolThe idol is the total yet limited presence of the symbol itself. Het idool is de volle en tegelijkertijd ook beperkte aanwezigheid van het symbool. The nature of the symbol in this case are statues which also serve as idols. De beelden vormen het symbool, maar tegelijkertijd ook het idool. But, in both cases, the symbol and the idol merge into the image and the ability of the human being to transcend itself.
