English-German translations for stage screw
Definition of stage screw
- A forged, or sometimes cast low thread count cut thread screw with a handle used to hold scenery in place in theaters . The aggressive thread held very well in stage surfaces but created a large hole that could not be reused and often needed to be drilled out and filled with hardwood dowels. The likeness of the stage screw is now used to mark a call for "old school" technical theater excellence. Was replaced by using an Improved stage screw, which is a triangular headed bolt that screwed into a threaded insert that could be reused in a stage surface.--
